The So Cal All Porsche Swap and Car Display
In the tradition of the original Parts Obsolete and Dunkel All Porsche swap meets, the 356 Club and 912 Registry present the So Cal All Porsche Swap and Car Display. Porsche owners from all over the world will be in town, and this event held in Costa Mesa will be the place to end a glorious weekend of Porsche related events.
This event will take us back to a simpler time in a very unique setting. A time when the Internet was not your primary source for used Porsche parts. A time when the local Southern California Porsche clubs gathered each winter to swap, fender fondle, see old friends and appreciate the breed.
This event caters only to Porsche’s and their owners. You won’t be tripping over Borgward a-arms on your way to those elusive parts you need to complete your ground up restoration. There will be vendors dedicated to our Porsche hobby and plenty of swap space will be available. If you have a car for sale, bring it and put a sign and information sheet in the window and sell it.
This event is held in conjunction with the Early 911S Registry and R-Gruppe. All Porsche clubs are invited and will have dedicated parking corrals and club tents set up for information and club gear. There will also be some very special Porsche race cars and other unique examples of Porsche history on display.
Each car coming in for display parking will make a donation of $20. Swappers will make a $40 donation. Vendor space will be available, but must be reserved prior to February 15th. For vendor display information and reservations, contact Bob Lee at Robert.b.lee@nsc.com or 858-414-3523. ALL proceeds will go to the children’s charity, Technology Kids.
Though the event opens at 8:00 AM on Sunday morning, clubs, swappers and vendors can set up on Saturday afternoon from 3:00 – 6:00 PM. Right next door to the event site sits European Collectables, who will be hosting an open house for the Porsche community from 4:00 – 7:00 Saturday evening. Afterwards, you can head out to dinner in any one of the great restaurants down in the Newport Beach and the Orange County area.
So, save the date, March 11th, 2007. Bring your Porsche, whatever money you have leftover from the Literature Meet, your friends and join us for a celebration of Porsche! Breakfast and lunch will be available, so plan to spend the day soaking in the glory that is Porsche. Watch for updates and for information; contact Jeff Trask at NO911NV@aol.com or 949-697-4499 or Pete McNulty at pmcnulty98@aol.com or 949-400-9319. Let us know how you want to be involved!
