Default Color question

I was snooping through this forum and came across a picture posted and had a question about it. Anyway here's the picture that was posted:

I'm wondering if anyone could tell me the name of this color and if possible the paint code for it. Thank you very much for your time..

That is Fish Silver Gray # 505

I took the picture because it was such a neat color that I hadn't seen before....
It's more light blue than gray. You can sort of see a gray hue to it. Cool......

I would have guessed Meissen Blue.

That is what I first thought too, but I was corrected.

I've got to admit, there seemed to be a touch more grey in it than Meissen Blue.

Wait. Didn't you have two 356s recently? I can't keep up with you guys. I'm jealous of your ability to sell cars. I just can't part with my cars. If I could, I'd have a 356 right now. Well, I guess admittedly I did part with the 356 - but there were a whole long list of reasons it had to go, part of which was that I couldn't part with any of my others which I've owned for 28 years and 18 years. Oh, on that low mileage C I came across, the owner still hasn't decided to pull the trigger. So, at least for now, I'm not tempted by it and am not figuring out how to juggle another car.

Oh, and on this car, maybe I'm off base here - and someone tell me if I am, but when I see what purports to be such a beautiful restoration, and then to see the non-Porsche headlights on them, I just cringe a little. I mean, if they didn't spend the time to get that right, what else is not right? Usually the seat crease of course. I realize that if you went to Porsche to get a replacement in the 50s or 60s, you were likely to get one of the ones shown in the picture. But, in today's restoration craziness and $100,000 cars, don't you think people would bother to chase down some originals? I did for my 356.

Yes we did. We sold the '55 Speedster...................

We still have the'58 Coupe and tha car will be in our garage for a looooong time. It is one of those kind of cars that you connect with the second you first see it. I think we learned a lesson when we sold Max. If you love your car, don't part with it no matter how much money you can make on the stupid thing because once the deal is done, you will be very sorry you did it.
