Default Starter button help needed

Does anyone have a nice clear pic of the starter button used in the Pre-A ('55) 356? I checked the images on the Registry, but nothing clear or close enough.

I have two in my parts box, one has a round bezel to hold it in place, the other has a six sided nut with a slight taper to the outside.

If not a picture, any help identifying the right button? Or maybe they're both incorrect.

Thanks ! ! !

My guess would be that if it is either of the two, it would be the round one.

Same here, until I found this pic:

The starter button SEEMS to have a six sided nut holding it in place, note the point at the top. NOW I'm not sure . . . and need help from a Pre-A owner or two. Even if no pic is available, maybe someone could just tell me.

Thanks ! !

Default Pre-A starter button

My pre-A Speedster had a plastic (matching the headlight switch in material and color) starter button with a round bezel and open screw terminals on the back. I'm pretty sure it was the original part since the car was only 13 years old when I got it. Coupes, of course, may have been different.

Yeah, the Speedsters DO seem to be different from the early Coupes. They really seem way more modern, if stripped down a bit. The dash layout, gauge configuration and such feels almost like a "B" or "C" coupe in a way, rather than a Pre-A. My old Coupe has those weird eye lids on the gauges and the "antique" looking center pod reminiscent of the split window Beetles. Which seem as old as dirt.

Thanks for the response. Any help at all is a help.
