Where are the safe jacks points to raise my 1958 356 ?

I typically use a piece of 1x6 under the factory jack point and lift the car enough to get a jack stand under the torsion bar, then jack from under the trans hoop. Checkout the recent addition ot the Registry's tech articles - How to Jack your 356. http://www.356registry.org/Tech/jacking.html

Not a problem. As long as you don't actually use the factory jack spurs and hte factory jack, you should be ok. Just remember to use a quality floor jack and spread the load with a piece of wood. If you need a jack for roadside use, many folks on the 356talk list recommend the 944 jack - easily available, cheap, the right size, etc.

BTW - Strongly recommend subscribing to 356talk (at least in digest form) and joining the registry if you haven't yet.
