Default 356 6 volt battery

I would like to convert 6 to 12 volt...battery only. Any experience?

There are any number of articles regarding the conversion. I don't think it is a good idea. If the battery and ground connections are good, 6 volts is great for lights and starting. I have no problems with my '64 Karmen. I did have all sorts of problems with a '67 912 with grounding issues, but that was not with any 6 vs 12 volts. Just nasty grounding issues. Se Joe Leonie's (spelling is bad) on the 356net rregarding the conversion needed to change to 12 volts. Not a turnkey change.

You won't charge it up completely, if it were fully charged you'd be putting a massive extra load on things... expect the smoke ot come out of turn signal switches, flashers, etc.
