actually those are my pictures - the "grave yard" is in [edit]removed location[/edit] - it has since been picked apart by a number of people it's pretty much gone now. We are actually negociating to buy the entire lot but coould not come to a deal.
Anyway...Graveyard is a misnomer really - it was more like a bad starage situation . that picture is just one of many that i took in 2000
i'll post the pictures on another thread to keep this one on topic - (don't want the Talk monitors spanking us_ -

A month or so ago I vented to the 356talknet about the email method of doing business and the neat way we do it on the rennlist. I caught so much crap from some of the curmudgeons you have thought I personally attacked their mothers. Very nasty folks. And one of those guys will probably be surprised that I will not buy anymore manuals from him. It is an indication of the temperment and age of those people. A good friend who is very instrumental in the 356 community suggested that I not forget the attempt and take it to the 356 Registry Board at the next annual meeting. It will take perserverance and the support of many of we Rennlist users to get any modernization. I do check the 356 talk net almost daily and it still drives me to distraction to filter out the blitherings.

Hi Jerry...don't get it personally...the 356Talklist is a fantastic technical resource as the "curmudgeons" are old and grumpy but knowledgeable as well...do what I do...have the 356Talklist for "nuts and bolts" source and have your fun and laughs here...don't give up the Talklist...

Take care...

On Pedro's advice, I actually joined the registry, but am to afraid of the barage of emails that will come with subscribing to the list. I hate lists as its hard to keep track of threads and each email is formatted differently according to the poster's email client/settings. That's a terrible way to do things. vBulletin is so much nicer and with the search feature it should be a no brainer to migrate over to it.

Also thanks to Pedro, I have bought about $300 worth of Porsche/356 books! He's like a crack dealer.

Default Digest ?

Just subscribe in Digest mode. 1 email per day, nicely formatted, no more...

The only inconvenient of digest is that you are a day behind when someone offers a nice car for sale. If not it's better that way!

Rob

I totally agree with your frustration. I do get the Digest format and it is still a tremendous pain to filter out the messages I do not give a wit about. I wish that the items of no interest could be deleted at the header, but any delete on a particular subject just deletes the entire digest. And that may not be a bad thing!

We signed in to get our email this morning and there was nothing from 356Talk. Not a single solitary email. I sent Talk an email and they said we weren't members of Talk?? That's funny. We've been on talk for years and only unsubscribe when we go on vacation.
SOOOOOOO I had no emails to delete this morning because according to them we are unknown! My delete finger is going into spasms from the lack of use!!!

Seriously, even with all the PITA emails to delete, we are 356 junkies and have to have our daily 356 fix, so we come here and 356Talk to get it.

One day the Registry will have a forum like this one... key phrase ONE DAY when someone decides to do it for them. John D. has to be laughing about these 356talk threads. He knows how hard it is to have a forum like this and unsderstands why no one is stepping up to start one at the Registry, right John??

You try to tell them that and see what happens. I dare you. I TRIPLE DOG DARE YOU!!!

We just do both, The List and Rennlist. Keeps the peace that way.
