Default VIR Historic Sportscar Racing 10/15

hey 356 fans,

If you are in the Danville , VA area this weekend the season finale for SVRA is going on at Virginia International Raceway (VIR). There are about six 356s in my class (C production) half of which are speedsters. We are competing with Elva Couriers, Datsun 2000s, 240z, triumphs, etc...

Stop by and say hi if you go to check it out. #14, 1962 356B T6 with color shifting stripes.

Jason: I was at VIR Thurs/Fri/Sat in this 356. My first weekend in the car after racing a Shelby Mustang for three years. What a hoot. BTW your paint job was excellent.

Hey Steve!

Saw you on the grid, track paddock .. was meaning to come over and say hello as I think you are a fellow VA resident. Ended up getting caught up in trying to run 3 cars with two drivers. Very busy weekend. Your car looked good! Must have been quite an adjustment coming from that HP. I know the feeling when switching in and out of our IROC.

After looking at Group #8 timesheets, I was impressed to see George Balbach and John Biggs running ~2:22s... Especially when we slow pokes in Group 3 wer in the 2:3? range. Oh well, goes to show what bigger rubber (they run 225 / 50/ 15) and 12 hour motors will do.

Wrote a thread on it on www.dorkiphus.com.

See you out there...in Feb '05 for me.

OK: looks like about 1/2 the entrants skipped the Sunday 5:30 race - like I did.

I'll be at G&W's Fall Fling in November at VIR - come on down, it's a hoot.

Not sure I can get the hall pass for that one. Should be a good time though. Might have my gearbox out for repairs by then... I skipped the Friday race as well. Did you run in the enduro on Friday afternoon? I ran it in our '66, not the 356. It was a fun race.
