Default Auto Portraiture

Art and the final outcome are very subjective. Beautiy in this case is truely in the eye of the beholder.

There is a lot of truth in the comment "Steve Andersons work is the best".

However I would be remiss in not sharing an alternative to his style.

I have been painting portraits of automobiles, specifically Porsches for well over 30 plus years starting with my first commission for Bob Hagestad where I completed 20 original watercolors of the Porsche history for his then dealership in Denver.

Without too much of a shameless plug I would encourage all to visit the web site, www.reconstructions.com and open the mind to all the options available.

I also do the cover art for PML, the market letter for Porsche automobiles, some for Club Racing News and a recent commision honoring Erwim Komenda (Porsche body designer, 100 years) which can be seen at http://www.komenda.at/Artists.htm

Thanks for the opportunity to share my talent with the faithful.

Oops... Sorry Michael for leaving you out. You work is truly among the best Automotive art I've seen. Please accept my apologies.

There is one other artist who's works we also enjoy. Please consider Steven Foster at: www.swbstudios.com
He is a friend of ours and we have at least seven of his watercolor and ink Porsche originals and prints decorating our walls. His artwork not only ends up on walls but tee shirts, jackets etc.....

Once again, sorry for leaving you both out of my initial post!

Offer it up as a model to a local CC or HS art class... with the stipulation that you get to keep one of the creations.

edit - creation of your choice that is....

You can also check out www.Artechnika.com. I believe Rich has unpacked his supplies after the cross country move. Me, I'm far from the best, but I also don't charge the same prices. One of these days, I get Rich (Herzog) to update the website... it's been a very long time!

Here's some other stuff i've done...

A young lady named Caroline Qualls has done two car portraits for me. She has a website somewhere out there and both my cars are on it. She works from a photo so location is no big deal.
