1959 356 project
I decided to take on a major project for my shop as my metal fabricator is old school and enjoys this type work.
My painter works along side him and they work very well together so that there are no excuses come paint time which is an important synergy to have for any restoration.
This is a ruby red car with factory delivery to race car driver John Cuevas. Clean Oregon title.
Missing original motor and tranny, therefore it is a blank canvas. Will be working to get this body as a roller ready for paint. Enjoy.

Hope you got your tetanus shot. 😃. Timely thread as I’ve just been offered a similar type of project, albeit on a 64 C Coupe. In process of figuring out what I want vs what I should do.....
Good luck and keep us posted

this car came with enough parts that i could have parted it out. However, I needed a filler job for my metal staff in between customer work... so this willl make for get filler work.
It came with two sets of wheels, speedster seats and stock seats, sunroof clip, 2 engines, 2 transmissions, 2 sets of doors and a bunch of other interesting stuff.

Hell of a project but I can see how a good metal worker could bring it back to life.
You must use the sunroof clip - no 2 ways about it.
Here's my 1959 Super Sunroof Coupe to give you some inspiration

Still charging forward... turns out my car is a late production 1959 therefore it is T2 A body but the lock posts and doors are T5 like the 1960 356.
So doors have to be late 1959 or 1960+ T5 doors with vent frames removed. Interesting learning about the differences throughout the years.

Get a hold of a Celette bench. With a car that far gone, alignment will never be satisfactory without it. The car won't be enjoyable to drive- it will crab down the road.
