C engine (75hp), not an SC (95hp). See https://www.stoddard.com/Werkstatte/bodyengineid/

Noticed that too. Last number seems to be 8 with a faint 8 stamp underneath, penultimate number harder to tell. Could just be the factory making a better impression on the second try. Could be someone trying to make a matching numbers engine out of a close number. Hard to tell.

I ran the 5 digit number but did not come up with anything other than a range of years. Are you missing one digit on the engine number?

The chassis number is a 1963. The engine number is a 1964C. I'm not sure it matters because there is a bigger issue here.

Wondering if the rest of the car still exists?

Any other sources?

The "P", the stars, and the numbers all have the correct size and shape where I would be confident these were stamped at the factory. It looks like they stamped the last two didgits incorrectly (transposed) and corrected them. The engine serial number is for a 356C. 7xxxxx was for the base C and 8xxxxx was for the SC. The reality is the cases are the same so you can rebuild the engines to whatever spec you want.
