Default 356 fuel petcock, still using cork?

Hi, I'm surprised to not be able to find an alternative material for the gasket inside the petcock of my 356. Cork seems so outdated and viton would probably last much longer. Has anyone heard of using anything besides cork in there?

Thanks!

Default How long do you want it to last?

I last changed the one in my roadster in about 1989. Yes, with cork. So long as the fuel **** gets used and the gasket isn’t allowed to dry out for extended periods cork works perfectly.
