for the 911?
Yes - contact www.gt-racing.com they have the bases and the lights - not sure about accuracy but for an "R" conversion they should be fine
the orignal bits are extreemly expensive if you can find them at all

if you are looking for the real thing, or must have the real thing, i would try parts obsolete. as they build alot of vintage racers there, and deal with and sell many rare and hard to find parts. id say if anyone has real 911r tail lights it would be gary emory (who owns parts obsolete), but i can immagine it will cost you. if he dosent have original, they will be as close to original as you can get.

if its not on his website, then i would give him a call (number is on website), as alot of his rarer and specialty parts will not be listed.

Since there were only 25 911 R cars produced, I doubt there were alot of spare parts made. If you found an original part it would be VERY expensive and whoever had it for sale would probably only sell it to someone who owned a REAL 911 R.
But then you may have a real one! Do You?????
I know a few years ago a guy had some real 550 Spyder parts and they were sold to guys with Beck replicas. There was a big stink about original parts should only go on original cars. But if you've got the means to pay the price..........

ok here is a real 911 R with real parts

here is John Thornton's 912 "R" created by gary emory..

given Roberts coment about how many originals existed, it could be assumed that the 912 "R" has replicas, but then again its an emory creation so its hard to tell.
can you see any difference in the tail lights?
i havent been able to talk to John Thornton in awhile (for some reason he stopped posting on the bbs912.. i think someone really pissed him off on the board.. if someone really wants though, i could email him and ask if he can give me info on them)
btw.. the old guy bending down into the 912R, thats the owner of the 911R, whose talking to John who cant be seen cause he is in the drivers seat. i wish i could be racing a 911R when i reach that age!

i took the picture of the red 911R. (if you look at the pics from my cross country trip, they will be located in the section san francisco/bay area, and sears point raceway)
the blue 912R, pictures were taken by Dave Hillman http://www.hillmanimages.com/912/
do a search on dave hillmans 912 page for john thornton or 912R, you'll find more.
also if you look on the 911 message board for jack olson, he has them on his 911rsr clone
