Default Engine tin rubber...

OK, which way do they fit? Flaps "UP," or flaps "DOWN?" I've reasoned this through, and can't remember the reason that they go up or down! Visible seals in the factory manual appear to be both ways, depending on the day... I think that they point down (top picture) which will put the straighter piece flat against the body. Thoughts?
