Default Bob Devores 928?

I was looking through Phil Tongs 928 website and I found some information on the Devek founder Bob Devore's racing 928...very wicked looking too

http://www.928s4vr.com/devore.htm

It sounds like Bob is no longer with us, or just retired? What ever happened to the green machine? 700hp stroker....it must have been a wicked ride! Anymore stats on the green machine?

I believe Bob died years ago in a car crash while riding in a friend's Cobra.

I wonder the same thing.. someone here has to know.

It is neat to see those photos again. I had forgotten I have the other set of unused Kevlar Rear Fender Fares that Bob made for that 928. I need to go blow the dust off of them and find them a home!

How were the headlights deleted? Are those front fenders stock with the light hole filled and body-worked?

They were not modified stock fenders. They were Kevlar and quite strong. I had a set myself and I once had a 944 T hit me on the track. He had severe damage to his front end and my fender just needed some paint.

I just got a Christmas card fom Phil this week. Since the last time he ran his 928 he has changed jobs, got married and had 2 kids. I do talk to him on occasion and he says he is doing well.

Too bad Bob is gone.

Looking at the green machine....it almost has a pantera GT5 look to it with those aggresive fenders! I wonder where the car (& 700hp engine) ended up? Someone has to know....Marc-Susan?

Bob lost the motor with some regularity. I think if he brought the car home from the track and it was not broken he was dissapointed. I think he enjoyed the engineering challenge of the next project.
