specs of 91.91 vs 94 turbo
where might I find the specs on the 91,91 vs. 94 turbo the turbo clup only has minimal info and some write ups of both cars thanks

The basics:
Engine enlarged to 3.6L
Boost increased to 0.85bar
Speedline for Porsche 18s
Big reds
3.6T is rarer (about 1/3 the number were produced vs. the 91-92)
If you want more detail (down to the part numbers), Adrian Streather's book is a good resource.

Actually the entire engine was replaced. Porsche used the 3.3 L engine from 78-92. In 94 they took the NA 964 3.6 liter engine and converted it for turbo use. It is the same engine they used on the 993TT and was converted to water cooled for the 996TT's. Exhaust IC and turbo were retained along with all other components. There was a slight modification made to the fuel head otherwise the CIS was the same other than some minor plumbing changes.

I posted this a couple of days ago somewhere just can't remember. But max boost on the 3.6T was rated at 0.87 bar I believe. The gage was only calibrated to read up to .7 bar acceptable boost limits were something like .79 to .87. I can get the exact numbers if you need them.

I am with Sameer on this to the extent that I think the gauge is capable of a 0.9 reading. I recall seeing an official turbo 3.6 picture with the gauge reading 0.9. A picture, albeit official, may not necessarily mean much but I doubt that deception was on anyone's mind.
cobalt, you may, however, well be quite right as regards what the maximum boost could or should be. I just do not know for sure as I do not own the car.

I have a TSB from Porsche at home regarding the gauge only reading .7 bar. It claims something about because of technical reasons the 94 turbo uses the software from the 91-92 turbos. If a customer complains about it not reading over .7 bar do a boost check, if all is within prescribed limits inform customer of problem. No repair required.
I will post the exact words tonight. But the gauge does not read over 0.7 bar so per the factory the boost is not precise for max opening of the WG. but it would appear to be a .8 bar spring with tolerances like they are quoting. The springs aren't precise and can vary from spring to spring.

Trust me (and Cobalt), the stock boost gauge only reads to .7 (and I have dyno charts showing my car peak at .88 which I believe is in the margin of error for stock Turbo 3.6 boost).

I would have to say that the basic setting for these cars is .8 bar +/- unfortunately only Mark or Adrian have the info for the Flachbau's. You may try Marks updated site. The technical bulletins posted must have the info.
I wish there was a way to update the softeware on these things. If anyone has a suggestion let me know.

Checked Marks website and have a few write up's on the flachbeau which says that the flachbeau comes with a 0.9 bar boost from the factory. From Excellence. You can download the article from Mark's website.

Not much of a bump from the 3.6T would be curious to know what the max boost range is considered for the "S" probably something like .89 to .95.
