Default Turbo fender script decal - yea or nay?

Should I do it on the 951?

Alpine white car, black fuchs, no other badging and no side mouldings, so it's got a pretty "clean" look as is.

It has the hood crest (obviously), the black "turbo" script emblem on the back, and one small 2" crest on each of the two front fenders (in front of and slightly down from the mirror mounting locations). There's no "Porsche" logo above the bumper so that's it. It's pretty clean overall.

I'm getting my87944s's "rock guards" (in black to match the fuchs) in a week or two, so I think the turbo script might accent that nicely although I'm afraid it might also look too "ricey" for a street car that I want to look like a Porsche - classy.

Whaddya all think. Should I get one and do it? These things are about 100 bucks, so it's a bit much for a "just take it off if you don't like it" kind of experiment. If I get it, I'm doing it.

Do the fender Decal, it looks clean. About the only mod I wanna do on the exterior of my car will be a turbo script decal on the fender.

I like the clean look. It already says turbo on the *** end, as it is. To each his own though.

I'm planning on putting one on, provided the silver decal I ordered (and paid for) like a month and a half ago from the RL group buy ever shows up....Getting frustrating waiting but the vendor putting it together assures me that they just re-ordered the silvers and should have them soon.

Jeff,
To me, the decal is just more period specific. Judging by the numbers of 51's being parted out, why not draw some extra attention, it is OEM!! I'm biased though, I did the group buy.....

Go with it, it's a period-correct accessory by now :-)

I had a weird urge to go look for my old member's only jacket and get some Duran Duran cassettes when I put mine on, but that went away.

The silver sticker looks great on a white car because you can only see it at certain angles the black stands out to much for a white car. My 88 951 was white and looked great with a silver sticker. See if you can find some pics of a silver sticker on a white car! But you might be right about the black theme on your car the sticker will match the fuchs.
Have fun!
I just put the silver sticker on my ocean blue car. I put it on in temps below freezing and I think I f***** up the sticker. It does not look very good (poor install) and I might have to remove the sticker. The color is good just a lot of bubbles and a couple of small wrinkles that I am unhappy with.

I say putting the turbo decal on a 951 is just like putting a factory spoiler on an 911SC that doesn't have one. Everybody has their own preference, I think it looks good.
