Turbo fender script decal - yea or nay?
#16
Do it!
The only colour it may not look that good on is red. I dont quite like the mix of colours. There is a white car with a black decal pic posted not long ago... a guy from Aussie I think.

The weird part is I don't think there's an option code for whether it was included or not. I unfortunately do not have the original window sticker for this car (I only have it for the silver 944 n/a). There IS an option code for "badge delete" but oddly this one doesn't have it. . . I go back & forth on the back of the car without the "porsche" logo above the bumper. The n/a has it and I kind of like it, but I also like the clean look of the 951 without it (heck, it says "Porsche" already on the rubber wing - why do I have to be redundant?)
Anyone have pics or a photoshop job of it?

I am really happy with the black on white with my car. In Australia its very rare to even see a Turbo, and now i think by having the script on my car it makes it even more of a Buzz. I went to recent Porsche Meet and the decal got alot of attention. I like em! They offer something slightly different.

Do you want the sticker? If so, then get it! I voted for the third option, because it was pretty funny. At the end of the day, do you want it or not? Either way, it's pretty hard to stand out in SoCal, so i don't think you'll take any heat. BTW, I do think silver might be more subtle, and land you in an area somewhere in the midlle. Good luck. E

Dont get silver on white. You will hardly see it! The colour needs to contrast as the decal is clear where it appears to fade, so you will get a mix of silver and white and it will likely be so subtle you wont see it! Ask me how I know! Porsche recommend the correct colour decal for the certain colour car

Andy,
What color is your car and sticker? I've got zermatt silver and I don't want a lot of contrast... would the silver work for me, or should I go with black for contrast?
Also, do both the silver and black stickers "fade" from light to dark? Yours seems to be light at the T and gets darker toward the O.

My car is Zermatt silver. The sticker is Black (you either get Silver or Black). I love that you asked about not wanting a lot of contrast and thinking silver, because I just saved you $100. The Silver decal on the Zermatt Silver colour is invisible. Seriously invisible. You cant see it unless you get 15cm away and strain. This is the problem, the Silver is almost identical to Zermatt, secondly, all the decals fade. This is acieved by making clear dots in the decal. So it fads to the cars colour. Its a really nice effect. Unless your car is also the same silver then it make is even more invisible! I obviously took the Silver one off and bought a black one...

Does the sticker look ok when applied directly to the paint/clearcoat? In other words, can I just slap it on and be happy, or will I want to repaint my fender and shoot clear over the sticker?
