Well I finally bit the bullet the decided to go with the Dynatech strut brace. The main reason I decided to go with Dynatech is that it’s the only one designed to preload the strut towers. First observation upon arrival was how well made it is compared to some of the others I’ve seen. It is very light, and uses all aircraft fittings. Fit and install was dead on. When I started to Preload the bar the sound of the towers creaking as the tension tightened was evident that it at least put a significant force on the towers.

Now for the real test at Lime Rock, conditions ideal.
First a little about the car. I been tuning for a while, playing around with different spring rates trying to dial out some oversteer. Prior to the installation I had it setup okay, but I still wasn’t happy about the low speed oversteer, and the fact that I needed to have the rear shocks at full soft on the compression to accomplish this. I was hopeful the brace would tighten up the front to neutralize the balance. To my surprise it worked out better then expected. It tightened up the front enough for me to turn the shock mid range, right where I wanted them, for a perfectly balanced car.

Great, so how would this change my times? Last time out I was running a consistent 1:08, now with the only real addition of the bar I was running a consistent 1:06. Two seconds faster then my previous time.

So does the brace make a difference. It absolutely did for me.

Just a heads up for anyone in the market for a strut brace.

Yeah Right....! They probably want 400 bucks for that....Its funny you cant find or buy a strut brace for the 944 for like under $200, but yet for my golf I had like 10 to choose from all under 100 bucks....
More 944 blues I guess....

Well, the brace is $350, but you get what you pay for. To me it is well worth it, since all are NOT created equal. I'm the first one to cheap out on certain parts that are questionable, but to me this is a no brainier. Nothing comes close.

If the 924/944/968 market was big enough to build these by the hundreds, like the VW aftermarket, this would cut our manufacturing costs dramatically. Part of the joy of owning a Porsche is exclusivity. Unfortunately, this means low production volumes up front, low volumes for OEM parts after car production stops, and low volumes in the aftermarket.
