Porsche 991: Leather Interior choices explained
Hello y'all
I noticed that there is a lot of confusion regarding the different leather interior choices, Porsche offers.
Since there's no explaining sheet or list on the U.S. website to download, I decided to make one myself.
The german website offers the pricelist, where everything is pretty well explained of which parts are covered in leather and which parts are not.
I copied the drawings they use and translated the descriptions in english. I also tried to adapt the sheet as much as possible to the U.S. specifications, since these are slightly different from the German specs.
UPDATE 10-25-2013:
- Explanation option XWK added
- Explanation regarding the odd pricing between 14- and 18- way seats added
- Error in numbering fixed
Here's a link to the PDF file (in Letter-format, so you can print it)

I hope it helps newbies and everybody that is in the ordering process.

Thank you all. Glad to help!
I think PCNA should pay me for it LOL
It's their job to inform the U.S. customers. PAG has all the info available, it seems PCNA just doesn't do anything with it....

Your PDF is a "god-send". Amazing and almost required reading to sort the leather interior stuff out... Thanks!

This is fantastic!! I wish I had it before I ordered.. I did not want all leather and the online creator was not as clear, as I wished it would have been.. there are definitely a few areas, I would have liked to have covered with leather that I missed because I was confused. At least I got the back of my seats covered in leather..
Your PDF should be a sticky here on the forum

FYI... Your attachement is not visible on an iPad or iPhone via the Rennlist-app, that's why I put a link in the original post.

@suzy991..
Are these leather choice explanations current and valid worldwide ? Or do these vary by region? Switzerland, EU, US , etc.?
Or is there a naming convention difference in seats, leather, etc. by market?
In the US, if you order "leather seats" instead of the "partial leather", and 14 way seats are ordered, then the diagram in the PDF and the legend is a good description of what is covered in the smooth, nicer leather. If however, the 18 way leather seats are ordered ONLY THE FRONT SEATS , along with whatever comes standard in smooth leather comes that way. The rear seats, tunnel , etc are the grained, partial leather seats.
I initially wanted to get the 18 way seats with the nicer leather but standard interior. When I found out that the rear seats would be the cheaper material, I did not like the idea and went with the full leather interior. This was discussed in a couple of threads here and somewhat "non definitively" confirmed by the dealer, since all the cars they normally ordered at that time with 18 way seats were also ordered with full leather.
Still, It would be worth knowing for sure for the US market. If you were to look in the US config on Porsche's website currently, you will see that ordering 18 way seats in leather is a few dollars cheaper than ordering the 14 way seats in leather. So, it is still likely what I state above is correct, though not 100%.
Those who have the 18 way seats without the full leather interior in the US, care to chime in so we know this definitively?
