I bought a very nice '79 about 5 yrs ago from this area. Stumbled on the news ad
while looking at (real) dogs for sale. Always liked the 928 but never got around
to actually buying one. Petrol blue, stick shift, very nice tan interior, slight ding and rash
around left rear wheelwell, 72K mi. He asked $7500 and was a little surprised
when I said OK. If I like a deal I don't bother negotiating. It was one owner
and he had a basket load of downloaded maintenance manuals to go with it.
I have since reworked and repainted the rear quarter and adjacent door,
and installed an oil control kit from 928 motorsports (worked very well).
Although I rarely ever drive it I love the car. Plenty fast enough for a 72 yr
old geezer and it turns heads wherever I go.
BTW, it had a rennlist sticker on the windshield that I didn't have the faintest
idea what it was for.

Very pretty!
About your purchasing strategy, I have this '83 Euro S....
:-)
And I like your landscaping! I bought my house in a neighborhood just like that...now I'm working elsewhere and every time I come back there is more lawn and manicuring going on..turning into a mini-golf course.

Welcome! Lived outside of Ithaca for almost 30 years before I moved back to VA. Don't miss the winter weather- sounds like you have a strategy for that, too! Looks like there is an opportunity for gatherings at the Glen, I see more and more NY 928ers here.
