Porsche’s latest and greatest feat of engineering is finally arriving. In a world where Tesla dominates the EV market, Porsche is releasing the Taycan. Right off the bat, one thing is obvious about the Taycan Turbo S. This thing is quick. Based on the reactions of both Thomas and James, the Taycan is so quick off the line that it will hurt you with G-force alone. From there the praise only continues. The raw speed is impressive. The instant throttle response is impressive. The handling is impressive. The boys can’t seem to stop gushing about just how great this thing is to drive.

All cars are not perfect however. The Porsche makes use of a trick two-speed transmission for the rear motors to vary torque and power output. Thomas loves the thing, but James feels it can add a little unpredictability when hitting the throttle on the move. Another small mark is placed against the Taycan’s steering. Despite the Porsche 911 having one of the best electronic steering systems in the business, the Taycan’s steering is apparently numb and uncommunicative. That said, it felt like the boys were reaching to find faults in the driving dynamics.

On a style, fit, and finish basis, the Taycan is leagues ahead of the competition. The biggest complaint against all Tesla models is the poor quality control and general construction. Because Porsche is a German manufacturer with decades of experience, the Taycan is put together flawlessly. Ever panel joint is tight and even, the interior is clean and luxurious, and every light, switch, and button works as intended.

If you wanted to make the leap to an EV, but waited for a car with a trusted brand name and quality to back it up, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S is here for you. But don’t take our word for it, hit play and watch the review for yourself.
