If you just noticed that everything is better in the world, and you can’t figure out why, we have the answer: the 911 GT3 Cup car was just revealed at the Paris Motor Show.

Alright, perhaps I’m over-exaggerating its global impact. But Porsche’s latest single-make Cup Challenge car is definitely making the motorsports world better, thanks to all the semi-pro and would-be racers who get to upgrade to this beautiful beast.

What’s best about the new racer is that it shares 80% of its components with the magnificent 911 GT3 RS road car, according to Motor Authority. And most of those changes were made for safety and weight concerns. The engine’s the same: Porsche’s naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter flat-6, which is good for upwards of 485 horsepower. But this car weighs just 2,646 pounds.

The new GT3 Cup car maks a huge leap from the previous GT3 R Cup car, in no small part thanks to a 25-hp power bump. “Even more important, it offers far more torque at low revs, and this makes it a lot faster than before,” says Car & Driver.

And even better, the new Cup car should improve running costs significantly, as both the engine and transmission (a standard sequential racing gearbox) should last at least twice as long. Which certainly helps if you’re shelling out $213k for the new car.
