TechArt Introduces GTstreet R Kit For The New Porsche 911

Leonberg, Germany-based atelier’s GTstreet R is a 911-based ultra-exclusive sports car that can hit a top speed of 217.5 MPH.

Prolific Porsche tuner TechArt made a name for itself by rolling out some of the most striking reproductions of popular Porsche nameplates the world has ever seen. Last month, the German atelier gave Porsche Panamera its signature treatment, and now the company has released a sportier reinterpretation of the all-new Porsche 911.

TechArt’s latest offering is called GTstreet R and the “custom-built super sportscar” is the latest installment of the tuner’s GTstreet series, which was introduced back in 2001. The new model celebrates twenty successful years of the Leonberg, Germany-based brand’s GTstreet range and the car’s ultra-exclusive production run of just 87 units further adds to its appeal.

Tobias Beyer, Managing Director of TechArt, also shared his thoughts on the new model. “Since 1987, TECHART customers worldwide have an almost unlimited range of options for customizing and refining their Porsche vehicles. Based on our founding year, the GTstreet R program will be limited to 87 units.”

In addition to restyling the 992 series 911 nameplate, the German company also installed a wide range of performance upgrades to enhance the sports car’s power figures. The car’s motor was re-tuned, and it now produces 800 HP of power and 701 lb-ft of peak torque. The tuner achieved the bump in power by upgrading the exhaust and turbocharger system. The bodywork gets several carbon-fiber add-ons, including a giant rear wing which is the pièce de résistance of the ensemble.

The company also employed its refined TECHTRONIC system that is responsible for engine management and transmission control. The company claims that equipped with its TechArt power upgrade TA092/T2.1, the 911 Turbo S can deliver uncompromised track performance and maximum everyday suitability. According to the company, the GTstreet R can achieve a top speed of 217.5 MPH (350 km/h).

Customers can select between two available suspension setups for the GTstreet R. TechArt offers a sport suspension upgrade that reduces the car’s ride height by 1-inch on all four corners. Customers can also opt for an adjustable coil-over upgrade and lower the car by one inch when required. The prices of the GTstreet R kit start at $86,610 or €73,000 (based on current exchange rates).
