Porsche 991.2 GT3 RS

This killer Porsche proves that you can improve upon perfection with a few carefully selected upgrades.

It’s no secret that the Porsche GT3 is one of our favorite cars to ever grace this earth. And we’re also huge fans of the latest and greatest 991.2 GT3 RS, perhaps the finest iteration of this machine to date. Mostly because it combines all of our favorite things: a high-revving, naturally-aspirated flat-six; masterfully designed chassis; and enough weight-savings features to fill a short novel. And if you feel the same way we do about the 991.2 GT3 RS, you’ll undoubtedly love this Chalk-colored beauty we spotted over at our brother site, 6Speed Online.

Forum member Itzkirb picked up his shiny new ride earlier this year. At first, his plans involved protecting and enhancing it just a tad. Nothing crazy, mind you, because how do you really improve upon perfection? Initially, the idea was simply to cover the car in paint protection film, tint the windows, and install a Sharkwerks exhaust. Things changed a little along the way, as they always do, but the OP didn’t deviate from his plans too much.

The first stop for this killer Porsche was the actual Sharkwerks facility. There, they installed a new center-exit exhaust with black tips to replace the stock silver pieces. That alone provided a pretty big visual upgrade, as the new tips blend in nicely with the surrounding bodywork. But it would also unleash some pretty nasty noises from the car’s flat-six, as we’d later find out.

The next stop was at a shop called Premier for a full paint protection film wrap, which, by the looks of things, went very well. The car turned out great, and you certainly can’t tell that it’s been wrapped. At this point, the OP also wanted to protect his seat bolsters as well. So, he also got his hands on a set of EdGuard bolster protectors stitched up to match the car perfectly.

After that, all that was left to do was give this Porsche a good detail and hit the track. At which point the OP blesses us with several videos documenting how incredible it sounds with the new exhaust.

Overall, this gorgeous 991.2 GT3 RS is proof that you can, in fact, improve upon perfection. All it takes are a few carefully chosen upgrades. So be sure and head over here to check out all the great pictures and videos of this Porsche in action!
