Stärke recreates gorgeous Porsche 356 with the help of an unlikely donor car.

The Porsche 356 is one of the few cars that has earned the status of being a unicorn. Finding a 356, which were built between 1954 and 1958, is nearly impossible, and on the off-chance that a 356 pops up, especially one in decent shape, the machine is insanely expensive. Well, there’s a new company that has come up with a solution.

Well, now comes great news for Porsche enthusiasts: The Arizona-based Stärke company is converting good ol’ Porsche Boxsters from 1998 to 2012 into works of art. Stärke, as Motor Authority reports, creates its breathtaking Stärke Speedster by modifying Boxsters. That’s ingenious and a much more affordable way to get something that looks like a real 356.

The Stärke Speedster features a bespoke exterior that manages to transform the Boxster’s lines into ones that mimic those found on the 356. Customers even have a few choices to explore: the Stärke Revolution Speedster CS, “Outlaw,” SC, and Carbon Fiber “Outlaw” with XR57 Engine. Prices range from $59,950 for the Stärke Revolution Speedster CS and go up to $149,950 for the range-topping Stärke Speedster Carbon Fiber “Outlaw” with XR57 Engine. Unfortunately, those prices don’t include the donor car.

The Speedster CS is the model that represents the 356 the best, as it keeps things simple, while the Speedster “Outlaw” ditches the simplistic vintage look for one that’s slightly updated. The Speedster SC combines the best of the vintage design and modern performance, while the most expensive Speedster Carbon Fiber “Outlaw” with XR57 Engine has a carbon fiber body and a high-performance engine that makes 375 hp.

The transformation, as the pictures from Stärke’s website reveals, are amazing and could fool a lot of individuals into thinking that they’re the real thing. And as Motor Authority states, the company takes approximately 120 days to complete a build. While sending a newer 2012 Boxster to Stärke might be a little too expensive, getting an older 1998 model and getting it redone sounds like a dream come true.
