Secret Porsche Collection Will Blow Your Mind
Massive collection of Porsche cars is so secretive that the video has to be blurred in certain parts so you can’t find it.
We have undoubtedly seen some genuinely breathtaking private collections of cars in our time. However, nobody can hold a candle to the collections of automakers who’ve tucked away their most historic vehicles. With the racing prowess and pedigree that runs dutifully through the veins of our favorite Stuttgart manufacturer, it’s so no surprise that the secret Porsche collection of historic cars is absolutely jaw-dropping.
In a recent edition of “Capturing Car Culture,” a show on the Hagerty YouTube channel, automotive photography legend Larry Chen gives us an inside peak at this collection. Unbelievably, Porsche has kept this collection of the rarest and most iconic Porsche vehicles somewhat secret for a long time.
Name a Porsche Icon, & You’ll See It Here
Chen and Hagerty didn’t just give us a rare look inside this insane collection, either. Instead, this video explores the basement of the Porsche private collection. According to Chen, this is the first time anyone has ever been allowed to access and document the basement portion of the collection. If you’re a Porsche fan, there’s a good chance your all-time hero car is in this video.
There’s so much to see that it’s hard to put your finger on just one Porsche. From authentic Dakar 959 rally cars and Le Mans duration racers driven by Mario Andretti to the late Ken Block’s Hoonipigasus, there’s genuinely “one of everything.”
The stash goes beyond just rare road cars and race cars, though.
Hidden in Plain Sight
Our personal favorite is what Thomas Haas, the carer of this collection, calls the 918 “engineering car. ” This mule car was used to develop what is arguably the most iconic Porsche supercar of our time.
“This here is also a test car. It was only driven in Weissach…it’s a little bit of Max Max. So, it makes it very special to me to keep these cars because it’s an engineering car,” says Haas.
To list all of the coolest cars in this collection would take far too long. Instead, we implore you to check it out for yourself below. Try not to drool on your desk, though.
