Porsche Taycan 4S: The Car That Will Make You an EV Believer

Porsche Taycan 4S is so good it has me considering doing something I never thought I would–buying an electric car.

I am a Porsche guy through and through. I have a track-prepped Cayman and a garage queen 911. I love them both. I have been driving Porsche cars for nearly 20 years now. But I also believe variety is the spice of life. I currently also have a 2018 Mustang GT in my driveway for when I want that type of driving experience.

I like my cars to be fast and loud.

Electric cars are intriguing. I know they are very quick, and they are the future, but I never thought they were for me. An electric car is for the other guy. Let them save the gas, so I can burn it on the racetrack in one of my “real” cars. Then I drove the Taycan 4S. Well crap, now I have another Porsche model to lust after.

I recently attended a Taycan open house event at my local Porsche dealer. I would finally get the opportunity to get some seat time in the car and learn a bit more about it. I was able to crawl around a Taycan Turbo and get a 4S model out on the road for a test drive.

I have driven a few EVs before and while they are tech heavy and fast which is great, they didn’t have the soul I wanted. When Porsche released the Taycan they used the tagline: Soul, Electrified. I think they nailed it. If you are a Porsche driver you know there is a feeling in a Porsche that is tough to get in any other car. Despite it being all-electric I think the Taycan has that same feel.

I liked the Taycan more than I thought. For the first time I can see myself actually spending money on an electric car. To see how I came to this conclusion check out the full review I wrote on our sister site Electric Vehicle Forums. And give the Taycan a try yourself.

You may be surprised.
