How many Motorsports events do you reckon are held each year? Far too many for Rennlist‘s stats department to keep track of, that’s for sure. So it’s kind of a big deal that the International Historic Motoring Awards (IHMA) named the Porsche Rennsport Reunion V their Motorsports Event of the Year.

As you can see in the glimmering gallery below, a heap of gorgeous Porsches convened at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California at the end of September. According to the Sports Car Digest, “A record 57,531 enthusiasts experienced an event like no other. Over 50 legendary Porsche drivers and engineers came together with more than 75 Le Mans specific and significant models to celebrate ‘Porsche at Le Mans’ and the most recent 17th overall victory this past June.”

The photos below are just a few selections from the first page of the Digest‘s utterly drool-worthy nine-page picture gallery. By all means, check it out.

The Rennsport Reunion V had to beat out other quality heritage motoring events to claim the coveted prize, including these fine finalists: the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion (also held at Laguna Seca), the Classic 24 Hour at Daytona, Eifel Rallye Festival, Historic Grand Prix Zandvoort, Phillip Island Classic Festival of Motorsport, and Silverstone Classic 2015.

According to KSBW news in Central California, the event brought together the largest global gathering of Porsche race cars, 321 to be exact. Not to mention there were some 1,500 Porsches on display, including nine straight from the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.

With so much to see, you can bet there’s a whole heap of photos on the forum too!
