Porsche will make its very first appearance at SXSW this year with a space full of awesome sketches, design studies, and concepts.

For Porsche, design has always played a critical role in the automaker’s success, perhaps more so than most of its peers. After all, few vehicles in history can stay true to a basic overall shape and evolve for generations, all while retaining their signature look without boring passionate, opinionated automotive fans, like the 911 has done for decades. Now, Porsche is bringing its design expertise to the masses after signing a three-year cooperation agreement with South by Southwest (SXSW), a massive tech and culture festival that takes place each year in Austin, Texas.

This year will mark the very first time the iconic brand has participated in the festival when it takes place on March 11-20 and will give eager fans a backstage look at Porsche’s design process, both old and new. The automaker’s display will contain a number of interesting exhibits worth checking out, including its “Porsche Unseen” design studies, a curated portfolio containing both design sketches and completed studies located close to the SXSW conference center on 4th Street.

The space itself promises to be an impressive sight, with a giant design desk taking up the bulk of the custom-built space, which is filled with cool vehicles, concepts, and ideas from Porsche’s history. That includes everything from the tools Porsche uses to design vehicles to special exhibits such as the Porsche 911 Vision Safari concept, Porsche Boxster Bergspyder, Vision 916, 904 Living Legend, 917 Living Legend, and 919 Street, to name just a few.

Aside from Porsche projects, the automaker is also providing space for music, film, tech, and gaming creators to show off their own projects. Those attending the conference will be able to share their ideas with Porsche Digital team members as well in a highly collaborative experience.

“South by Southwest aims to help creative people achieve their goals,” Detlev von Platen, Member of the Board for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG. “And Porsche is the brand for all those who bravely follow their dreams. The philosophies of both brands fit together perfectly and we look forward to exchanging ideas with creative minds from all over the world. SXSW holds a special place for emerging talent and we invite them to delve deeper into the world of our brand.”
