Porsche Half-Track Attempts to Pull Truck Out of the Snow

By -

The half-track mod to the 935 flat nose is cool on its own, but it’s not quite enough for this rescue attempt.

The Porsche 935 flat nose is pretty cool already. The aerodynamic nose likely helped this version of the 911 win 123 of the 370 races it entered, along with the power of the 3.3-liter twin-turbo flat-six.

We don’t think Porsche would have thought of this, though. We happened upon a Facebook post from Porsche enthusiast Jason Lightner and his wild 935 Targa with the rear pair of wheels set aside for a half-track.

Lightner takes the 935 half-track up the muddy slog and snow, easily climbing up the slop like an off-roader. With a bit of throttle, the modded Porsche reverses back down to do some rescue work.

Once in position, Lightner’s friend hooks his Toyota to the back of the 935 half-track almost immediately. After everything checks out, Lightner declares, “We’re doing it,” and by it, he means pull the truck out of the muddy rut with a little help from the truck itself.

Alas, the 935 isn’t strong enough to pull the Toyota out of the mud, even with the truck doing all it can to help. The half-track 911 is pretty cool, though.
