Adam Carolla Rides Goodwood Hill Climb in Porsche 935
Comedian and car enthusiast has teamed up with Motor Trend for weekly show focused on vintage car racing.Â
Comedian, writer, and podcaster Adam Carolla is a devoted car and race enthusiast. He recently collaborated with Motor Trend to do a weekly show online that takes his love of classic racers on the road and to some of the most demanding and notorious tracks around the world. The show, aptly named Adam Carolla Goes Racing, will see Carolla racing some truly legendary wheels.
The first episode sees Carolla pumping in headfirst, taking Paul Newman‘s Le Mans-winning 1979 Porsche 935 on the hill climb at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England. It is worth noting that Carolla has easy access to this Porsche as he owns it. In fact, Carolla has been an avid vintage race car collector for years, and boasts 10 of the Newman’s cars in his impressive race car collection.
In 2017, Carolla even got a chance to take one of these, a 987 Nissan 300ZX, on the hill climb at Goodwood. This time around he’s a bit more prepared, and ready to ride.
The car arrives from Southern California and it is beautifully-preserved and ready to roll.
“The idea is to get into it, make some noise, spool up the turbo, give the crowd a little show, but stay away from the flint wall,” Carolla says before his run.
Carolla is a great host, he is funny, engaging, and offers viewers a lot of valuable information. The episode provides great footage of Goodwood, and the viewer gets the experience of taking on the hill climb alongside Carolla. Not to mention all that beautiful Porsche goodness.
