Slantnoses may not get much love. But they also don’t get much nicer than this low mile 930 Turbo!

In the vast world of the 911, like anything else, enthusiasts certainly have their favorites. Few exceed the love we have for the legendary 930 Turbo, a car that became one of the most iconic vehicles ever produced. Chances are, if you grew up in the ’80s, you probably had a poster of one on your wall. With Judas Priest’s Porsche-inspired Turbo Lover blaring from your boombox, you dreamed of one day getting your hands on a 930 Turbo.

But the much beloved 911 from that era also came in a configuration that few (at least today) appreciate. And that is the controversial Slantnose. At the time, forgoing the 911’s iconic face for an ’80s appropriate popup headlight treatment was a factory option. Some love it, some hate it. And some of the Slantnose’s hate probably stems from the fact that many converted their 930 after the fact.

Regardless of how you feel about the flattened out face, you can’t deny that this 1987 930 Turbo Slantnose is one of the nicest you’ll ever lay eyes on. We spotted the ’80s-tastic Guards Red ride over at The Collector Car Network, where it was recently up for grabs. And if it makes you feel any better, this one is a factory Slantnose! It sports an amazingly low 49,995 miles on the odometer, zero of which were spent in the rain. Or at least that’s what the owner claims.

You will find a few modifications, however. All of which, thankfully, aren’t permanent. We certainly dig the ArtTech wheels, of course. And a TiAL wastegate and Fabspeed headers and exhaust give the 930 Turbo little more aural appeal. The Turbo has also been upgraded to a Garrett G35R, with a Turbokraft intercooler.

All-in-all, it’s one of the nicest 930 Turbo Slantnoses we’ve ever laid eyes on. Even if we still prefer our “regular old” 911s!
