Nardo Grey GT2 RS

If there ever was a perfect color for a car it just might be Nardo Grey on a GT2 RS. One look will have you acting like one of Pavlov’s dogs.

Folks may have varying opinions on what color to paint a Porsche. But damn this Nardo Grey 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS looks absolutely STUNNING. The GT2 RS is already a spectacular car but this one is nearly a perfect spec. The color looks amazing. Of course, the Weissach Package and magnesium wheels are terrific. Front axle lift for those sloping driveways is also included. The only questionable option is the Bose stereo. Not that it is bad but why bother paying extra for a radio in this car? Just listen to that 700 twin-turbocharged horsepower roar.

This incredible Nardo Grey beauty was recently featured on the online auction site Bring a Trailer and the listing can be found HERE. The original MSRP was $350,290. That is a lot of money for sure. But it is also likely the least expensive this car will ever be. The car sold for $395,000. Add in the $5,000 buyers fee and it is an even $400,000. Solid money, but this might be one of those cars that in ten years is going for double or triple that amount and we all kick ourselves for not buying one now. At least the people that actually have $400K to drop on a car right now will be kicking themselves.

GT2 RS

Hard to believe but 2018 was now five years ago. So just in case you forgot about the GT2 RS here is a quick refresher. 700 horsepower and 553 foot-pounds of torque are directed to the rear wheels via a PDK transmission. The Weissach package would set you back $18,000. The optional magnesium wheels would cost another $13,000.

But you would be saving about 40 pounds with these options, and you want the lightest GT2 RS you can get right? Top speed was 211 mph, and the quarter mile went by in less than 10.5 seconds. But it could do far more than just go fast in a straight line. It set a Nurburgring Nordschleife production car lap record. The car is a beast.

Driver or Flipper?

As impressive as this car is, we doubt the owners of this particular Nardo Grey example have any idea. The first owner put only about 350 miles on the car in nearly two years. Owner number two put a whopping 2,000 miles on the car in a little over a year. And owner three put about 900 miles on the car in about a year.

So, after five years and three owners the car as about 3,300 miles on it. People drool over the performance capability of the GT2 RS. Yet the car is purchased, and those performance capabilities are almost never explored. Hopefully owner number four plans to drive this thing a little bit. But we are not holding our breath.

Place In History

The 2018 GT2 RS will likely be one of the cars we look back on in 25 years and see it as the end of an era. The 992 GT3 RS will probably also be in the discussion. Cars like this are simply not long for this world. Eventually even the RS cars will become EV cars. If you are able to, then you should probably grab these cars now. Just please drive them once you do.
