German Porsche Ad from the Early-Nineties Cleverly Acknowledges Our ‘Dependence’ on the Legendary Ride

Porsche has always had a way with words. From directly calling out the opposition to casually teasing their own customers, there is very little that the auto company won’t do in the name of advertisement. Few companies can get away with advertising the way that Porsche does, and for good reason: Porsche is one of the most iconic car manufacturers out there.

We recently uncovered another example of the brilliance that is Porsche advertising. The European ad above for the Porsche 911 was published in the early-Nineties and was geared primarily toward a young German audience. The print reads, “For 100 years, cars created independence. One creates dependence.” That car is none other than the prized Porsche 964 Turbo 30th Anniversary Edition.

The advertisement definitely worked well. But, really, when has Porsche ever failed to draw crowds?
