If you haven’t noticed, Richard Hammond’s YouTube page has been blowing up with tons of new videos and behind-the-scenes pieces from old Top Gear shows, as well as bits and pieces of old DVDs and specials. One of the latest videos is from the post-Top Gear timeframe, and I just hope that its what the new Amazon show, The Grand Tour, will be like. It features a Porsche 911 Turbo, a Corvette C7 Z06, and a Mercedes-AMG GT S. Surprisingly for these three, it’s May in the Merc and Clarkson in the 911. Hammond is in the American car, because of course he is. Now aside from being a possible harbinger of the new show, which appears to be as good as we had hoped, this clip also introduces a familiar guest. A very fast guest.

You see, the boys are used to having The Stig around to give qualitative track data, but without the BBC and Top Gear, they have no more access to the Stig. What happens next is that we get introduced to a man in a white suit who looks disheveled and homeless. He says he used to work in television as a racing driver before he was fired. Now he just lives in a garage by the track. That man is none other than Ben Collins, the original white Stig that ran with Top Gear for the majority of its modern existence.

Rather than allowing me to prattle on, why don’t you press play to watch Clarkson, Hammond, and May do what they do best. Seeing “The Ben Collins” flog the Porsche 911 Turbo around the track is just an extra bonus.
