A Ford Coyote V8 in a Porsche Cayman? This is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things!

Did you ever tinker or break something as a kid that made your parents tell you: “This is why we can’t have nice things?” Well, this is exactly how I feel about this video.

Power By The Hour Performance, brings us this cool and also disturbing video that’ll make you either happy, or mad. This isn’t the first and certainly not the last time someone drops an American V8 engine into a Porsche, but I cringe every time I hear about one of these swaps. It’s a bit sacrilegious, don’t you think? Then again, I’ve spent a good amount of time with the latest Ford Mustang with the Coyote V8, and it’s a bloody good car, but it that’s where it belongs.

Still, my positive feelings toward the Mustang engine doesn’t make me like the Cayman any more. Sure, it may be somewhat cool, and sure, it may be pretty darn fast, but we all know it won’t be any better on the road than the original factory package. It simply can’t be.

Unless the Porsche engine in this Cayman was completely ruined, why do this?
