Porsche announced they are not building the 718 GT4 after 2023 so grabbing this 2021 model might be a good idea.

Being able to afford a Porsche has never been easy. But it is getting increasingly difficult. If you have not been on the Porsche configurator lately, hold onto your wallet. Prices have been jacked up across the board. But it is not just about the money. If you want a Porsche GT model, good luck getting an allocation. For many enthusiasts, it means grabbing one on the preowned marke, and there is nothing wrong with that. Especially if you can get one with that is covered by the Porsche CPO program.

We have a perfect example listed here by Rennlist member Porsche444. Up for sale is his stunning Racing Yellow 2021 718 GT4.

Not sure if you want to pay $139,950 for a preowned 718 GT4? Well, consider this. Word has it that Porsche is killing the 718 GT4 after the 2023 model year. These wonderful cars are not going to be around much longer, and those that are around will probably be depreciation proof. Sure, the GT4 may have been eclipsed by the GT4 RS when it comes to track performance.

But there is no question: the regular GT4 remains one of the best mid-engine cars that you can buy today. While it can still be a thrill on the track, it is less extreme than the RS so you could easily use it as a daily driver as well. And this one being offered is wonderfully-optioned.

I like bold colors on my Porsche cars, and “Racing Yellow” fits the bill on this GT4. However, it is much more than just the paint color that makes this car desirable. This particular car is ready to hit the track, and comes with the full bucket seats from the factory, but it is further upgraded for track duty.

There is an aftermarket roll bar, a harness, springs, drop links and more. The new buyer also gets the stock wheels and a set of beautiful Titan7 wheels. Some may complain about the PDK instead of the 6-speed manual. But this car is setup for track duty and the PDK is simply brilliant there.

Selling Slowly

This car was first posted for sale over seven months ago. So, it is not exactly flying off the lot. Why is that? Well, the seller is not interested in giving the car away. It is fully priced for sure. But given the equipment this car has and the condition it is not an unfair price either.

The buyer is in no rush to sell and while the car market may be softening there is still demand for these cars. And if Porsche is not going to be making them any longer that demand will only increase. Although if you want a GT4 without all the extras the seller has said that he will return the car to stock and lower the price for anyone interested.

Don’t Let Track Time Scare You

A lot of folks immediately dismiss a car if there is any evidence of track time. This never made much sense to me especially on a car like the 718 GT4. In my experience, the folks that track their cars maintain them to a much higher standard than those that let them rot in the garage. And with this car being PDK, you don’t have to worry about overrevs.

If you are looking for a great track car, this is it. If you are interested in just a fun streetcar this car will likely give you many years of enjoyment that way as well. Porsche is going electric soon so the days of cars like this are coming to an end. Grab these while you still can.
