Porsche’s video magazine returns with more eye candy for Porschephiles.

Porsche excellent video magazine, 9:11 – nine minutes and eleven seconds of curated content – is exactly the sort of stylish, edifying, and just plain cool stuff you’ve come to expect from the brand. It’s back for a second episode, so we’ll break down what’s offered up for our enjoyment.

As before, the episode is broken down into four short segments, with the first being a rally 911 owned by Dr. Erik Brandenburg. For Dr. Brandenburg, driving his rally 911 is a way to relax and enjoy life to the fullest, an escape from his stressful job and the mortality he is faced with every day. He has a long history with this particular car, with many rally wins under his belt to show for his efforts.

The second segment is a popular video that made the rounds a while back: a 3.2 Carrera engine that appears to disassemble itself through the magic of time-lapse photography. The video is fascinating – we’d even call it hypnotizing – and is well worth another look if you haven’t seen it in a while.

The third segment takes us into Porsche’s historical archives, where priceless artifacts make up the written record of Porsche’s history. The spotlight is on what might be the most significant documents preserved by the company – Ferdinand Porsche’s first order books.

The books contain sketches and specifications for some of Ferdinand’s earliest projects, with the earliest entries dating back to August 1930. Like a songwriter’s lyric book, they offer a rare window into the mind of a creative genius.

The final segment is a video of the warehouse of the Porsche Museum. It’s a fast-paced look at the models not currently on display, and it’s well worth multiple viewings to make sure you don’t miss any of the rare prototypes and race cars that make cameos.
