In case you needed yet another reminder, Porsches never go out of fashion.

The latest example of such comes to us from across the pond, where Silverstone Auctions held their inaugural Porsche Sale auction on Sunday, which was perfectly timed to coincide with the Porsche Club of Great Britain track day.

Held at the Silverstone racing circuit, the auction managed a 70% sell-through rate while producing $4.2 million in cars and automobilia. And oh, what cars!

The 1973 911 2.7 RS Touring car above garnered the biggest check of the day, roughly $628,000, including the buyer’s premium. Not bad for one of the first 500 built.

Porsche Central Operations’ one-off above nabbed a healthy $265,000 and change, nearly a third more than its estimated value. The restomod is based on a 1977 911 Lux and outfitted with a 993 development engine with race cams.

Then there was this 2007 911 991 GT3 RS with only 5,527 miles on her. Believed to be one of the lowest mileage ’97s around, she took in more than $258,000.

“Sunday’s sale just goes to show the power of the Porsche marque in the current market,” said Chris Seaward, general manager of the Porsche Club GB, via ClassicCars.com.

The power, indeed. But also the beauty, which you can see more of in the auction brochure below.
