Fully-Built Porsche GT3 Cup Car Is a Racing Fan’s Dream Ride
If your current track car is getting a bit boring or you want to go racing, then this 2008 Porsche GT3 Cup Car could be for you.
We spotted this absolute beauty of a Porsche on an online auction site recently, where the Porsche GT3 Cup Car is listed at $80,000. According to the seller, it has 268.9 hours on the chassis. However, it only has 34.6 hours on the engine since it was rebuilt by Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA).
It comes with a PMNA sealed sequential gearbox with six hours on after a rebuild by Copans Transmission. That’s definitely not to be sniffed at. Brian Copans has been building race transmissions for 20 years, and his work has a habit of finishing endurance races.
Also, according to the seller, the Porsche GT3 Cup Car is on the original chassis, has no tub damage, and the paint is streetcar-quality. We think that’s a great sign.
Also included in the car is an unlocked Motec Club Dash Logger. We presume it’s unlocked for the upgrades mentioned by the seller. There’s also a camera system and a laptop containing data and video files. There’s even a spare set of wheels and a Porsche GT3 Cup Car cover included. Then to complete your turn-key race car experience, there is a cool suit with a fresh blower.
We also some found footage of the car in action from a race at Portland International Raceway:
