1977 Porsche 911S Stolen After Just Eight Hours Overseas

1977 911s

As a staunch believer in the First Amendment, I hate to suggest that this is what bad karma looks like, but there are consequences for touring with a band that plays a song called “Smack My Bitch Up.” Whether you believe the band, The Prodigy, wrote that song celebrating or denigrating said activity matters little. Either way, karma just slapped former touring member Kris Bones right in the face.

Actually, I take all that back. I don’t care what kind of crap music you used to play, no one deserves this fate.

Bones, an avid car collector for the last 20 years, bought this beautiful 1977 Porsche 911S from a former Porsche racer who put a lot of work into the one-off. Bones considers it his favorite car.

One problem though, he bought the car in Maryland, but lived some 4,000 miles away in Dulwich, South London. So Bones had her shipped home.

After just eight hours in London, the Porsche sat covered in Bones’ driveway awaiting a trip to storage while Bones was at home watching tele. He suddenly heard the distinct sound of the car revving up and ran downstairs, only to watch his baby being driven away.

The car was stolen on Saturday, and has yet to be found.

“I know it’s only a car and especially with everything going on at the moment it’s not that significant,” Bones told the Mirror. “Unfortunately for men we are often over-attached to cars.”

It’s hard to imagine being too attached to this sweet 911 though. Here’s hoping the authorities nab this guy. If not, if karma is really at work in this world, then hopefully we can expect the thief will lose a hand soon.
