I got it and agree(d) with it.

Thanks, mjs. The comments and criticisms will force folks to post elsewhere. And that seems to be OK with many here. The ratio of dealer listings versus listings by individuals is growing and will continue to grow. Dealers and their sales staff can take the $hit because it's not their cars.

It's more like MMA in here everyday.

Tough to see something like this. I've got a PTS/LWB gt4 on the way at msrp... and it's 12k cheaper than this deal. I understand second hand market, but a dealer? Hard pass and it's just another dealership I'll avoid in the future.

Guys and gals, you are the consumer and have power in numbers. Instead of getting upset start leaving your opinions and reviews on sites like BBB, Yelp, DMV complaint, Porsche North America, your local state/city representatives and then you'll start affecting their business to the point that they won't justify the "market adjustment" every time you ask them about their advertised price. I don't blame the dealer nor the consumer but giving the guy a hard time on here won't do anything but make it harder to do his job so that he can put food on his table. You need to get reform done or at least affect the owners pocket and then you will get change.

what exactly you would complain to the DMV about?

And do you think the average buyer of a $100k car is gonna be influenced by yelp reviews?

Big surprise - Rod Knock pipes in on a for sale thread and says comments shouldn't be allowed in a for sale thread. 🙄

Seems like a lot of RL guys are fine with comments as long as it is only in the vein of "great price - will sell fast!" or "wow - only $10k over - what a steal".

By the way, bragging about how you paid over MSRP doesn't make you look smart - it's a foolish practice and one Porsche should regulate. The shenanigans that dealers pull to make a little extra is shameful - but go along with it if you want. Just don't complain when others disagree. If you think it's such a steal at this price, then go buy it.

Rick brooklyn,

Of all the solutions i offered its funny that you would criticize any of them. Its not like I'm asking you to do any of them, just offering a concept (making a fundamental change rather than one thread at a time). And if you cant figure out what complaint to make to DMV then find another avenue, So many angry trolls on forums sitting behind a computer screen pissed off at the world.

I agree i dont think a buyer of a 100k car will care much about a yelp review but i can assure you that PNA considers this info when doing their customer satisfaction surveys.

Ya, after 5 pages of ripping the poor salesperson, I thought I'd lend some support.

You guys sound like a bunch of Bernie Sanders supporters, er, I mean, democratic socialists.

Supply and demand.

Fair, except that I bet there are plenty of guys on the GT4 "list" who didn't get an allocation and also didn't get access to this car at MSRP before it was relisted at a $20k premium. I'm as free market as they come, but I also like honesty.

I'm not familiar with the allocation/order process, but won't those buyers on the list get their cars, ordered to their specs, when their GT4's are delivered?

Not sure I follow. If the list has 7 people on it and the dealer only gets 4 allocations, there are 3 on the list that don't get an allocation.

Sorry, I'm a bit ignorant of the process, since I've never ordered a high demand limited allocation car before in my life.

So, JD is being excoriated for not calling buyers 5, 6 and 7, using your example, and telling each buyer, in order, that they can buy this GT4 at MSRP, assuming there are/were others on JD's list and JD sold their other allocations at MSRP too?
