Tell me about it! Over 28,000 hits... 8-9 chasers but no money to hold it yet. Was set to go to the UK until the VAT caused the buyer to back up...

Nice little S model still looking for a good home. ;D No real rush. No low ball interest...

Default Whole new approach...

The car was to be sold at $26,500 and the buyer wanted a detailed PPI. The PPI turned up some reasonable issues with the paint, and other items needing to be addressed in the buyer opinion.
Unfortunately that buyer's counter was too low to seriously consider....

I've decided to spend the time and money to have the work done professionally myself (no short cuts).

Back to the shop..

We're having the two paint panels with minor issues professionally repainted.

The tail shaft on the transmission (where the speedo connects)(common 915 design flaw) is being replaced. The old one had been poorly repaired.

The speedo/odometer is out to North Hollywood and will come back in perfect working order.

The short list of misc. smaller items are being taken care of by shop.

I'm re-offering this car (when completed in about three weeks) at $28,000.00.

Advance inquiries and or visits to see the car (even better) are welcomed. Nicer air cooled, early, light weight 911's are getting harder and harder to find. I'm investing another $4K and bumping the price $1500.

Serious buyer's may ask any questions that will help them make a decision. If you don't have an interest in buying this car, thanks for looking.

i deleted my posts - now without all the stories/drama/profit margain info/ can you make the PPI public so we can review it - there are serious buyers on the forum that want to see if upgrades were done and what work it is in need of

groovsilly...Thank you for deleting your posts... If you have a friend wanting to consider my car, have him/her contact me by PM. Nothing to hide from any serious parties. Buyer to seller= "how it's done"

I will and do respond directly to all serious, interested parties with any information they want to see or hear. I have always done my best to supply all the information requested from those who contact me. Your suggestions have no credibility and will not be recognized. I certainly have never had any issues with people like this before.

In defense of my 1977 911S,

INTERESTED SERIOUS PARTIES:

Every effort is going into having the few issues this car showed at PPI completed correctly. You won't be disappointed if you do your own inquiring. I hope others will overlook these sour attempts to discredit me and my car. I would hope this guy's comments would't deter any seriously interested parties.

What a beautiful car from what I can tell! What size engine was in that year? I know you only want to reply to serious parties only, but can you take a quick shot of the engine bay? I have to learn more about that year before I express interest. Don't wanna get you excited for nothing. Plus, I know of several people looking for an older model. The pic is just for me. I like looking.

Thank you.

The is very nice 911S and is about to get even nicer as we complete the mechanical work. The painter will finish up the paint work. I used a guy who's a true painting artist on these cars. Not cheap but very good.
The motor is an upgraded 2.7 "S" flat six. The trans is a stock 5 speed 915. All mechanical work is being done at the best Porsche shop I know and use exclusively in northern Arizona.

Here's the engine bay.
Motor has case savers, 11 blade fan, hydraulic chain tensioners, alum air box, fresh gaskets, seals, fluids and filters.

Good luck with your research. If I can help in any way please ask.

Donny

Thanks, Donny! I am amazed at how different your engine looks from mine (see pic below)! And thanks for being a source of knowledge for this era of Porsche. Sounds like you have a show car on your hands. I have always pined for a vintage P-car. Dunno if I can get the other half interested, even though I do the maintenance. Have you considered advertising in Panorama or Excellence? Anyway ... here's my complex and incredibly different engine ...

I sold my 95 993 a while back. They really are great cars. Love to find another one day.
And no you're not blind, no A/C... but the heater works great! ;D

Lol. No AC just means ya gotta drive faster. And hey ... I may be bugging you a little. Sorry if I am. It's my way of keeping your thread bumped. I really love your car, but I am worried I may need another back surgery soon, so that will kind of tie up funds. If you have time, please send me info to sonpca AT att DOT net. I wish I had seen this earlier ... I would have tagged along with hubby last week - he was on a test mission in Tucson. Sigh.
