For sale militia? Anyone else with me?
After many years of a properly moderated and governed site I've come to the life changing realization that no one here really gives a fu$k anymore. So I'm looking to be nominated as a part time moderator of the Vehicle for sale forum. I can't devote too much time to it but I'm willing to try to help end this systemic problem. I am always looking to see what's for sale because I'm always looking to buy, something.
How can we attempt to do this you ask? Minimum post counts before listing a vehicle for sale, minimum post counts before replying to an ad. Ads that clearly state a vehicle as sold and old ads heavily moderated. It seems harsh but I can't see how else to do this. I'm an anti government guy but I can't stand this anymore. We can remove posts, threads etc that do not clearly meet these rules.
Am I out of my mind? Is this extreme? I'm not even sure anymore but I'm burnt out of looking at this nonsense. Maybe others can volunteer to help moderate?
Please post your thoughts here...

I visit the three for-sale forums pretty much on a daily basis. I would like to volunteer and help moderate, but maybe I don't know what I'm getting myself into. So I would like talk with JDHertz offline just to understand the problems and how I can help. I also visit Pelican Porsche classifieds on a daily basis, and I like how they set it up so that for sale threads can only be commented by the author, and no one else can reply or comment on the price or just de-rail the OP's ad. Any ways, JDHertz, please PM me, we can chat on phone (I am on the West coast time zone).

Just call JD dic. Dic-tator. Of the classifieds that is.
No in all seriousness he's got my vote for this. JD has complained about the state of the classified forum in the past and at first I sort of chuckled and thought he was overacting a bit. But afterward I started paying attention to the number of threads that contained the sort of posts or scenarios that JD was describing. I agree we have issues here in the classifieds that could be improved.

I hope I don't regret wading into this debate (in a first post no less) but I think a few (many?) members frustration with the Vehicles for Sale section doesn't automatically necessitate wholesale changes and the implementation of minimum quotas (set by whom?) before participating.
I joined RL as a paying member last month. The catalyst was I started actively looking to purchase my first Porsche after years of want. I quickly determined that there was a wealth of information here (as well as a Classifieds area with generally well-sorted p-cars) and I didn't want to free-roll on the backs of others. From a $$$ contribution standpoint, I am equal to OP and others. From an information/usefulness standpoint to the rest of RL I bring exactly zero to the table currently, but the intent is certainly to change that over time.
In the interim, I've PM'd with several members (notably Ed in FL) about potential purchases, and have found those experiences extremely helpful and thoughtful as I try to navigate from newbie looker to newbie owner. The passion of many RLers is impossible to miss: it is also a potential barrier for growth should the community become more insular or restrictive in an attempt to slightly mitigate the frustrations of the veterans of the board.
I'd also end by noting that compared to many other forums (Jeep, BMW, Poker, Ski, Surfing, etc), the signal to noise ratio at RL is the highest I've experienced, present frustrations with Vehicles for Sale included.

Three Wheelin'
I have a totaled 930 with no drive train and original special order paint, first $250,000 takes it. I bought it for $400 bucks last week, but the price is firm.
