PCA Club Race stock class proposed changes - passenger seat change!!
Hey stock/prepared club racing folks! Send in your comments and let's see if the passenger seat can finally be removed in stock/prepared!
#1 stock rule change: external reservoir shocks become a prepared mod.
#2 change: passenger seat removal allowed in stock and prepared (!!)
Send in those comments to the committee!

I've never raced with PCA but I would vote NO on this just so I can see Gary rant about it on Rennlist.

IMO, requiring a passenger seat in any class is retarded. It comes down to safety. If your *** has to be dragged out of the car from the passenger side, it would certainly be better for the marshal to have a clear path of entry/exit. Cutting-away a right-side net is easy (is that even a requirement of PCA club racing?). Dragging a 200lb person over a seat and cage is not.

One strange additional requirement is that only 50 lbs of ballast can be added to the car.
I wonder if that means total or just seat replacement ballast weight. The qualifier seems out of place. To bad they didn't offer explanation.
Otherwise, it's about time.

I'm with Randy on this one. The 50 pound ballast limit seems very odd. Most racing seats with mounts (and possibly) sliders won't come near fifty pounds. And since there are limited places for ballast, imposing a 50 pound weight restriction on the ballast just doesn't make sense.

This reminds me of "amendments" that politicians add to bills to sabotage them. What does one thing have to do with the other?
Depending on what battery I'm using, whether or not I have the spare tire in the boot, and how much gas I have in the tank, I have used as much as 125 lbs of ballast before. So what?
