Default More power for the GT4 - any valid numbers?

Hi guys,

I have studied almost every posting regarding a power gain for the GT4, in particular with regard to the Cargraphic GT4 Headers, the IPD plenum, the bigger throttle body and the software modifications.

I have also seen various measurements from motor power test stations. But what I still miss are concrete numbers when it comes to acceleration, e.g. 100 - 200 km/h? Did anybody measure the acceleration of his GT4 with a performance box?

It would be really great to get some reliable numbers, i.e. more than impressions that the car is faster (what most people will already assume when their car is louder).

Thanks
Holger

What about ABE, TUV, etc in your location? Does PFF have any numbers? Are you looking to compare numbers here and there?

Never seen any numbers in PFF, so there is nothing to compare. And let's not talk about the German TÜV.

Yes! I'd love to see a 40mph to 120+mph test: stock vs a car with some of these various mods. Real world gains!

TÜV? There are some guys around offering various stages, none of the street legal. Seems that there is no big enough market to invest in proper certification. Most people don't care because you rarely will get controlled and even more rarely officers would note the chances. However, if you do not have TÜV (let's keep it simple for non-Germans), you can loose your insurance in case of an accident.

I'm a fan of quarter mile trap speed. Having owned as many cars as I've had, the trap speed does a good job of conveying how powerful a car feels.

Along with trap speeds, 60 ft - 330 ft - 1/8th - 1000 - 1/4... all great in letting you know where the mods have made power for you. Provided you've made stock runs in various conditions.

Track junkies with data can show speeds at the end of the straight. Overlaying the data should make the gain pretty obvious.

Actually, I am surprised that none of the tuning companies has provided any numbers. Aren't there any or are the modified cars not faster than the series? In SportAuto, a German car magazine, the a-Workx GT4 was tested and - funny thing - it wasn't any faster than the series GT4, although it was supposed to have around 420 hp. I am wondering if it's worth to spend so much money on mods, which have not been verified by concrete numbers. So, COBBs, Sharkwerk, BGB, etc. can you add anything here? I'd be really keen to get some information.

Ehresmann Automotive has posted dyno runs of their various stages, you can find those on PFF.

Sven, I know the dyno run diagrams, but dyno run diagrams can be manipulated easily (this does not refer to Ehresmann!). Therefore, I'd rather see some evidence re the actual acceleration. Sorry for being pain in the ***, but I find it a little odd that no numbers seem to be available.

Just installed ipd plenum, 82mm tb and now waiting for a pro tune from Fabspeed...
I already have dynosheets of the stock car, of the car with Fabspeed sport headers and BMC filters (posted few months ago)... and asap I'll post new dynosheet (once done) with the new mods....
I'm not a tuner and I'm not affiliated with Fabspeed ... I'm only a lawyer with a big car passion....

Is the plenum really worth it? I have seen posts saying it produces hardly any power and other stating it is night and day. So has any upgraded there car in stages and just did a plenum and nothing else, to see the difference.
