I tried a similar one, made by FlexSmart: http://www.gogroove.com/component/vi...&category_id=2

Terrible reception half the time and lost Bluetooth connection the other half. Hated it.

Taking out the PCM is the hardest part! Couldn't agree with you more on this!

How is the sound guys? I would do it but the sound is what I am worried about. It must sound better than my Soundfly FM modulator. FM's freq response is limited to from 30hz-15khz. Probably will sound better since the noise floor would be lower due to the direct feed into the FM rx. Just trying to justify the purchase.

The sound is fine. It is as good as an FM station that comes in clear if not better.

Agreed the sound is fine. Did any of you mount the unit securely or just tuck it in. I haven't mounted mine securely and have it tucked in and I notice when hitting bumps the unit drops connection and then reconnects again.

Haven't had that issue, I tucked mine safely behind the PCM.

Tucked mine behind the PCM (tons of room back there)....and no issues to date.

Hmm, i notice if i mine is laying on the floor and say i pick it up, it drops connection. Sounds like it could be an issue with the wiring harness going into the unit.

Here is a pic where I installed the mic. I have the cover removed to show. The pop in/out cover I drilled a bunch of holes in and covered with speaker grill cloth.

Reason?

I insulated just as you did with elec tape and it works fine. Simply curious.
