2010 GT3 CL recall, a NEW recall

Seriously, who writes these things @Porsche?
Lawyers I suppose...
It is kinda hilarious that they make the usual disclaimers about track use and recall 510 specific VINs...

They must be planning to roll out the recall in stages. I can't see that only 2010 gt3s would need hubs and bearings AND a new maintenance schedule whereas the RSs and all 2011 cars won't... If that were even possible, they would slap 2011 parts on all and call it a day! They will all be redone over the course of 2013 to reset and then the "maintenance schedule" will be implemented shifting the responsibility for further changes to the owner.
Still can't understand what a narrow body car is doing to the hubs that a wide body isn't? Don't get that!!

^ Some rumors about a targeted recall for specific hubs, emerged.
Now, and if true, all we have to do is compare it with the actual list of known failures.

The phrase "unusually aggressive manner" is probably a 500 page long fine print summary(long version 1500 pages) by PAG's lawyers(sorry VW) that explains "you're f$$$ked". Mike

i dont know about all this CL replacement thing. if i have CL. i get new ones every year. they often fail if you stare at them in unusually aggressive manner.

even with Mooty's understeer problems I can't hang with him - man he's fast! hmmmm - maybe it's because he's running porsche OEM center locks - perhaps I should move back to them now that I understand not to use them "aggressively" - that was my whole problem before - I was aggressive, but now I'll be nice to them and they won't fail at a 140 mph in a corner....
I'm soooo glad porsche cleared that up for me.

At least PAG's doing something to address a long-running problem. The manner in which they attempt to firewall the issue and deflect blame to customers is despicable nevertheless.
My shrink told me I've shown no relapse of aggressive behavior since doubling my valium dosage. Apparently PAG thinks otherwise--I'm not just aggressive, but "UNUSUALLY AGGRESSIVE"

I'm sure more info will pop up regarding this, but probably not until the January release. So until then, drive careful and be safe.

Chris Harris Question: Single stud wheels are a problem, will you stop providing them?
Porsche R&D Chief Answer: "We will continue with that. I know with the GT3 we had to modify the torque rating and we changed to new nuts with 600Nm, and if you run the car on the race track, you will eventually have to change the hubs every 15,000km."
But people forget and then you have problems.
Check yer nuts: safe if used properly he says"But if you use them properly, it works. We will continue to provide this system."
-----
so we have a recommended replacement schedule now. Everyone set aside 11 hours of labor, wheel bearing and replacement hubs - change those puppies every 15,000 km/10,000 miles
I note he didn't restrict this advice to the 2010 GT3's only.

I am assuming that the 510 are most likely part of a particular manufacture date range?
would be good to see which cars are effected once the recall starts to roll out...
