Default RS door pulls

Is there anyway to change these to yellow yet? If you spec a car with PCCB and yellow belts, the only red bit is the openers. Doesn't look that good to me.

Nope, I asked PCNA and PAG... Impossible. Pissed me off. I ordered the black door pulls from the Boxster Spyder from my Part's Dept.

But can you put the black ones in without much trouble?

It's just a piece of nylon webbing strap -- you'd be able to find an auto upholstery place to replace it. I was thinking of replacing it with a bit of black leather and getting the plastic molding covered at the same time -- it looks pretty cheesy as it is and it's something right in front of you and you have to touch it every time you use the car, so I think it warrants a little upgrade. The only really cool thing about that strap is that, if you don't close the door before you strap into the seat, you can still just barely reach it with one finger. Otherwise you have to do the oh-so-not-cool drive-backwards-and-tap-the-brakes to get the door to swing closed. : )

Yup, talked to my tech. Door panels need to come off - but at most, a 30 min. to 45 min. job to replace both sides.

I really would want to get those redone in yellow. It would look great with yellow belts and PCCB.

Part # for black door pulls from the Boxster Spyder: 987-555-563-00-A23. Not sure what the #s are for the assembly.

i would avoid ordering yellow belts in a RS. (or any luxury options for that matter)

besides, concours guys will frown on those who change the door pulls! LOL!

A430V is correct on the strap part number and the retail is 92.01 each. The full assembly part number is 987 555 381 00 A23 and 987 555 382 00 A23 and the retail price is $100.41 each. Check with Suncoast for a better price.

p.s. I doubt that the RS America parts are the same but I can't be sure.

or maybe you could just use the door handle

I also requested yellow straps to go with the yellow belts & brakes but received a similar answer. However, the red straps still match the red RS 3.8 logo in the seats & the red 6 point belts. Also, yellow straps may start to look a bit dirty with use.

my dad, my sister, and my mom all rode with me in the RS. they all reached for the door pull as a safety strap. I warned them it will eject them from the car. love the look they give you and they ask how do they hold on. just grab the side of the seat and pray for dear life! needless to say, love the strap. could care less that it doesn't match yellow calipers on the outside. i think they would get too dirty anyways since they are definitely tugged quite hard.

No red RS 3.8 stitching on the seats here in the US. Seems that is only available on the cloth seats. I'd also be concerned about the yellow straps easily showing dirt. I know the yellow belts in my 6-GT3 were the only part that showed dirt from use.

I wonder how long it would take someone to find a black strap on a black door that doesn't really know anything about porsches. Lol
