What do you think about this Carmax offer?
I went to Carmax to sell my wife's 2010 Audi Q7. They offered me $4k more than the Lexus dealer I am buying her new car from. I also sold Carmax my previous car 2 years ago and again their offer was the best by several thousands of dollars.
While I was delivering the Q7 to Carmax, I took the opportunity to have them appraise my Porsche, which by the way was one of the last 997.2 to arrive to the USA (August 2012):
2012 997.2
C4S
13,900 miles
Price: $110,465.00
1H Platinum Silver Metallic
250 Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
267 Self Dimming Mirrors
342 Heated Seats (Front)
437 Comfort seat (left)
438 Comfort seat (right)
446 WhlCtrsw/FullcolorPorscheCrest
640 Sport Chrono Package Plus
672 Extend Navigation Mod-PCM 3.0
680 BOSE(R) Surround Sound System
686 SiriusXM(TM) Sat Radio Tuner
AN Black Standard Leather
P15 12-Way Power Seats
P35 Comfort Package
P36 Infotainment Package
Warranty Start: August 31, 2012
They offered me $60k for the Car.
What do you guys think?

Race Director
NADA:
Rough trade-in: $63,500
Average trade-in: $67,050
Clean trade-in: $70,025
Clean retail: $75,875
I think with the CarMax offer of $60K there's room for a nice profit for when the car is sold at retail.
For CarMax.

Thanks Hot Nikon and Macster.
My initial expectation was at least $70k, not only because my car is a 9/10 but because The Porsche Exchanged is selling an 'identical' CPO car for $83k.

After reading everybody's much appreciated input, I realized that the appraiser must have thought I was wasting his time. However, I would think that Carmax should always give their best offer because they can never be sure of their potential clients intentions.
